On the 18th and 19th of September 2023, something incredible happened in the heart of Ibadan. A group of compassionate individuals embarked on a mission to make a difference in the lives of 1000 children living in the Nalende slum areas. Their journey began on the 17th when they settled into an apartment near New Garage, gearing up for an extraordinary two-day event.

The initiative kicked off on the 18th with visits to two remarkable schools: Saints Stephen’s Primary School, located behind the Anglican Church in Nalende, which had 350 eager pupils, and UNA Mission School in Nalende, where 43 bright minds were ready to learn. The impact was immediate and heartwarming as these young souls received more than just educational support.

On the 19th, the volunteers extended their generosity to St. John’s CRM Nalende, a school with over 50 hopeful pupils, and UNA Mission School, where 33 children were excited to greet their new friends. What transpired was not just a distribution of learning materials, school bags, water bottles, drinks, and snacks; it was the creation of lasting memories and hope for a brighter future.

In addition to these material gifts, the team also provided much-needed emotional support and career guidance to the children. It was a holistic approach to nurturing the young minds of Nalende, ensuring they not only had the tools for education but also the encouragement to dream big.

This heartwarming charity event, known as “1000 GLOW IN IBADAN,” lit up the lives of these children and left an indelible mark on their hearts. It was a testament to the power of collective kindness and the potential to make a difference in the world, one child at a time.
